So I have two cockerels that currently roost together in a kennel inside my house to keep them warm and safe from the hens till they're old enough, and our blue birchen boy has lost a LOT of weight in the two months since we got him, where as his brother is pretty heavy already. He sleeps a lot, picks at his food but doesn't seem to really care to eat more than a few bites. Both of these boys had and were treated for coccidiosis in November and have recovered since then, but now hes no longer the same.

Age - 3 months old (estimated)

Diet - medicated Chick starter / cracked corn, all purpose poultry feed, fresh vegetables.

His stool is a cream color but very watery with minor solidity, hes very tired all the time, but is responsive. His crop is almost always empty, hes thin enough to feel his sharp as if that was all thats there.

No go to vet comments, please, I wouldn't be asking here if I had thought a vet was an option right now.

EDIT - Hes under UV light right now to get his vitamin D.

I would first think of coccidiosis which still could be a problem at his age. That is treated with amprollium (Corid is the brand name) and you can get it at most feed stores. Dosage is 10 ml (2tsp) of the liquid, or 1 1/2 tsp of the powder, per gallon of water for 5 days. It is safe to give both cockerels. At Tractor Supply the liquid may be less expensive. The other possibility is that the smaller one is being kept from food by the other guy, and is not getting his share. If possible, I would give the thinner one his own food and water in a separate crate. Give some soft cooked egg, tuna, or liver as a treat in addition to the usual feed. What are they eating?

Thank you so much for replying, but I am sad to say he was too far gone and passed away hours after this post was made :(

We had been using corrid but I fear I may have taken him off too early, his brother is doing just fine though and will keep a very close eye on him!
