Lice? (Picture)

That’s great but as of December of this year we have a pesticide ban , meaning we aren’t able to buy the items we’ve used here TIL now .

My poultry dusting powders manufacture stopped making that product this summer .

Here in Canada we are apparently trying to save the world , and having to go to my vet that doesn’t know the difference between a Cornish and a crow is going to be very frustrating :/

Well that stinks!

It may be time to get a little creative;) Check in pet shops that carry supplies for pigeons or pet birds, likely they do carry some type of louse powder or miticide. Most bans cover products commonly used in animals for food (meat/eggs) but "pet products" might still be available. You may even find a permethrin based spray or dust for use in dogs that would work, you just want to research the other ingredients.

Wow! This morning I picked one dead louse off of Cinder, and that's the only sign I could see on anyone. I wonder if I caught it early enough that DE was surprisingly still able to work?! I will most definitely still be getting/using something else... but it's nice to have a minute to look around at options without feeling like I have a major infestation!

I just went to the feed store and just as @Wyorp Rock said this is the same as the poultry dusting powder but because it doesn’t go on something we eat , it’s still allowed here .

Except it is more concentrated so I will mix it with de ...

I bet if you read the label, it tells you it's safe to use in your veggie garden:D I've always been amazed that some things are banned for use on animals, but it's o.k. for us to sprinkle it on our beans, tomatoes, etc. to control garden pests.

Oh I'm so curious if I could find that here too! I found a bunch of local feed stores and they SAID they didn't have anything that would work... But they're probably not thinking outside of the box so much...
I found a vet that has one can of Ectiban dust, and I got my hopes up... But it's $60 :barnie Have to give this some more thought. I *think* it could posssibly work to continue with the DE... but I'd really like something more efficient.

I don't think you need to mix that. The stuff we use here is 0.25% I think.
