I planned on doing the Daisy style I saw on here and other sites. But I've always wanted to do a log playhouse or small shed with landscape timbers. While pricing material for the Daisy Coop I saw my local Lowe's had 8' landscape timbers on sale for $2.50 ea. (Normally $4.30ish) so I decided to run with a log coop.
I'm new here and as I stated in my intro I'm not a woodsmith or builder. I sketched it out based off the Daisy design with the plan off making it 4'x8'. I pretty much winged it from there. I definitely would have benefited from scaling it down and figuring out measurements but what's the fun in that?
I'm about 90% done and will continue to update....

I love it, looks just like a little log cabin!

<cringes>

Love the big roof overhangs!
Are soffits open for ventilation?

Right now its completely open. I will be adding logs between the trusses which will continue the wall to the roof but with spacers so as to vent into the soffit. The roof peak has about an inch gap and the ridge cap is open at the ends.

Edit: I see you are from SW Michigan too. It stood strong to the winds yesterday but still going to be adding supports.

Leave them open, great for winter ventilation, cover them with 1/2" hardware cloth.

It was crazy windy, surprised we didn't lose power.
This morning most everything covered in white.
Where are you in SW MI?
I'm between Paw Paw and the big lake.
