LPHF Blue Australorps Hatching Thread

Today is Day 0 of our Blue Australorps incubation!

These are the first generation from our Splash rooster crossed over Black hens. We have pictures of our crossbreeds, but this will be our first group of purebred Australorps.

Incubator is a Magicfly 12, forced air incubator.
Temp - 99.5 Humidity - 35%

We set 6 eggs, and we’re keeping any pullets who may hatch. I’m so excited!

I’m going to do daily candlings after Day 3. I want them to get a good start and most of the time nothing shows up on the camera the first couple of days.

I’ll use this post to show the candlings as they progress.

Today is Day 4 of our incubation.

Candling has begun!

#1 - had a small spider but not visible on camera

#2 - also had a small spider (look next to the top of R)

#3 - no true veins seen, but a tinge of red

#4 - same as 3 just a tinge of red in the yolk

#5 - this one has a blood/meat spot (next to the 5) so we’ll see (green is food coloring)

#6 - not really much to show same as #3

Another day another candling.
5/6 look good!

#6 - Meh maybe spider? Egg is already dark.
