Too hot can cause pasty butt too so next time think about lowering the brooder temp some.

They had plenty of room to get to the cool side, and even the lamp side wasn’t hot most of the time, around 80° at the most.

We’ve got two that I’m almost 99.9% certain are male. The combs are already much larger than everyone else’s.

And update on Biggie! We were wrong on who B’s momma was. Turns out Biggie is a Brahma cross because..Pea Comb! (not Langshan) B is a sibling tonour Thunder and No name, except we’re thinking Biggie came from our dominant hen Carol rather than what the other two’s momma Eggatha.

I couldn't figure out the comb type but finally it popped out some today and it's a straight comb. So definitely a langshan and not a brahma pea comb.
