LPHF Blue Australorps Hatching Thread

I finally finished my research paper. A day and a half to write a 16 page research paper has destroyed my brain for the night. :th

Yes! We have three externals, and three woodpeckering away at the shells. No progress has been made though which is getting me really worried. :barnie

I'm seeing progress. The holes are bigger. Or did you do that?

Oh ok. Darn. I was excited for ya. I've never incubated/hatch any chicks yet. This is all so neat to me. I hope they'll be ok. :fl
Thank you :hugs I’m starting to think this incubator is a piece of junk. I’ve had better luck in my homemade styrofoam box one than this!

What can you do about drying membranes? Is that what causes "shrink wrap"? Can you add more water for humidity or need to stop opening the bator? Or add some kind of oil like coconut oil or whatnot? In other words, is there anything you can do about it?
I’ve added as much water as I can, and it isn’t raising at all. I have tried to not open the bator but the membranes still dried out. :idunno I used a Q-tip to moisten the area around the beaks in hopes that they decide to break free. I did see some small veins though so maybe they are still trying.
