How did you work the blue into the australorps?

We didn't. When we first got chickens, we were gifted a free chick which turned out to be our Splash rooster.

These chicks are going to be the start of the breeding program to bring them into a better standard of perfection. The hens we have don't have the height I would like, and a couple of them have darker eyes than preferred. The pullets are being retained and bred back to the rooster, and the cockerels will be sold.
