Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Ok, in response to the "what do you look like" portion of this thread, I am submitting a picture of my lovely wife and me, which is current and then one from over 20 years ago of the two of us with our oldest daughter when she was about 2. Oh yeah, I was born in January 1958...

Didn't get married til I was 29, our first child was born the day before my 30th birthday and we now have 7 little darlings.

6 boys and 1 girl. Oldest is 22.5 years old, youngest 7.75 years old.

I'll never be able to retire.

OK everybody, I'm baaaaack. Took a few days off to move. Just got internet and TV back up. It's been a lot of fun catching up on this thread. Everyone is so nice and helpful. For those of you wanting faces to go with names......

Here's me- (I'm the one on the right LOL)

I am a 1958 model too Mahonri..... 2 kids, and 5 grandkids

I was supposed to get some Silkie eggs from Bob (Bad Azz silkies), but he is moving soon too, and his hens will probably not be laying in December. So I am back to square 1. Looking for eggs to incubate.

My own hens are on strike too since we moved. They may be laying again by then, but I have no way of collecting eggs before they freeze. I leave for work at 6 am and don't get home until 4:30. By that time they are pretty well frozen. Any suggestions?

I may be cruising the auction sites too. I have Thanksgiving Silkies due to hatch tomorrow. I didn't even realize it til today, I put them in lockdown a few days ago.

I have to drive 1 1/2 hours into the city tomorrow to get some things out of a storage locker there. that will be a good distraction/alternative to pug-nosing the incubator all day

Happy Hatching Everyone
