Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Mine stayed in their coop for 2 days. You know it's REALLY bad when they won't even come out. Heavy rain (don't know exactly how much we got, but over 4 inches) and wind gusts up to 50 MPH - it was just bad!

Please keep the wind wow it is pouring right now the chickens went back in....I think they need waders that lake is getting close to their pen I might have to go out and run the pump ..we pumped for 5 hrs to get the water down PG&E loves me

Silly chickens stand in the puddles, walk around in the mud, get lookin' really bedraggled, hens don't wipe their feet or wash up before laying, and all the eggs are muddy.

Wah. Wahhhhh waaahhhhh.

And yes, the ducks ARE loving it!

Don't forget walking on a slip and slide to do your chicken chores. That mud is slippery stuff!

That IS the biggest problem - plus doing it in the dark! I got myself one of those baseball caps with the LED lights in the bill and I use it. But that slick-as-snot mud even fills up the gripper bottoms of boots to render them fairly ineffective for safety's purpose. I hang on to the sides of the coops all the time.

I didn't see my "chicken hug" picture on there. It is somewhere up on the posts I think I did it yesterday. That is my official entry.
