It says, "graupel." I have never ever heard of that word before. I had to look it up!

precipitation, usually of brief duration, consisting of crisp, white, opaque ice particles, round or conical in shape and about two to five millimeters in diameter. Also called graupel, soft hail, tapioca snow.

A small, white ice particle that falls as precipitation and breaks apart easily when it lands on a surface. Also called snow pellet , soft hail .

I made a map so we could put our (not exact) location if you wanted to participate. The link is in my signature section. People have stated you need a google account to do it. You'll need to click EDIT, then on the map click the marker and drag it to where you are, then click done.

It is so cold here (supposed to get down to 22 degrees tonight) that 22 juvie Icelandics crammed themselves into a little grow-out coop at bedtime because the heater is on!

It is a hanging sweeter heater, not a heat lamp! They are going to freak out when they have to wait for me to get up and let them out in the morning! BTW, yes I see all the red combs and wattles!
