Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

I FINALLY got some shots of my NYD chicks! Not such great photos, but proof they lived, anyway, I guess.

These are the four TJs chicks, the "supposed" BR that hatched with them, and a little real BR that hatched a few weeks later.

I don't know WHAT she is, but she's NOT a Barred Rock.

Here she is again. (The "extra" beak poking out from behind her is another little chick that hatched later.)

Here's the eldest (first hatched) pullet.

And here's the little cockerel who hatched last and upside down.

The baby roo is very shy. He has chest bumped with the eldest pullet a couple of times and she always bests him.

These NYD babies will go outside full time this coming weekend. I've got a grow out coop another group o' chickens has abandoned as they moved in with other chickens in other coops. So that's where they will be housed for their integration period.

Also here's a button chick for your enjoyment.

I did head shots of mine this weekend so I could post a thread on getting them sexed. I thought I had three boys and two girls but so far the "best" answer I got on my other thread was one girl and four boys. Still hoping for at least one of them to be a girl. Pretty sure I heard one of them try to crow about a week ago but nothing since. They all got moved out to the garage last weekend. Poor babies were just getting too big for the dog crate. I moved my original tractor into the garage and they are loving the additional space. I think it is still too chilly for them to be fully outside but by the time my next batch is ready to go out hopefully it will be warm enough for them to be out and maybe mixed in with the big ones. We will have to see.

This is the one I still have hope is a girl.

Thought this one was a girl but even Jean says it is a boy sooooooo I guess it is a boy.

Really no doubt that this is a boy

Smaller comb but yup another boy

Figured this one was a boy as well since you can clearly see the three rows in the pea comb which is why I thought the other was a girl. No defined three rows but I am new to all of this.
Setting buff/light/dark Brahma eggs this weekend.

Here are some of my NYD babies

Here are my babies! These are the ones I hatched a few days before Christmas and for the New Years Hatch. I am pretty sure both of my Coronations are girls!!! Whoot! they hatched right before Christmas.
