That is a smart idea! i have been wondering how i will keep their water from freezing.I have also used mine underneath the waterer in my little coop to keep it from freezing up. They do have many uses!

Yes, I'm in the mountains. It has been an extremely mild winter so far! I was looking forward to more snow, but oh wellOur temps look pretty similar, though I'm coastal and perhaps you're in the mountains. I looked at the map but didn't check your elevation.
