Took all day! But coverted flooring to sand! My DH is a rockstar... did two trips to get sand.

Cajun is a little sad as mustard went to a new home today. Mustard is going to a local family that has an older flock so no babies for her to be mean to. BBQ has kinda extended her wing in friendship so we shall see!

Today I go out to do chook chores and find that Mak..CM.. and flown over the wire and got into the section designated for mama and babies... big mistake! She couldn’t figure out how to get back over and I had to rescue her... she looks to have the same exact injury that Sesame had! Right on the nose! ... she seems totally fine otherwise though and was so grateful that I saved her that she just stuck close to my feet.. which is unlike her as she is pretty flighty!

Please tell me that Sesame is no worse for ware!?

Sesame is doing good! It's kinda scabbed over and after asking around it looks like it can take forever to heal but they'll be ok. If the beak is broken off then infection is a worry but for little chips we should be good. I pick her up and look her over now and then. She squawks like I'm killing her till i have her tucked in my arm. Then it's all "scratches now!"

Yes good sign! That spot might look interesting to the others so just check every now and then that no one is pecking at it. Sesame put up such a fuss today when i picked her up! And then settled down for scratches and taunting the others that she was being held then flew down for some mealworms that i got this evening.

Chive the little roo looked in good shape and was getting really restless so i spent a half hour with him with the others to see if there would be any issue. Just a few pecks but the other two welsummers were glad to have him back. Definitely going to check on them first thing in the morning to make sure he's ok.
