Red Green ROCKS!!!!!!!!!

Yes! Wish I had a handy man around like him. He could keep me laughing all day long. Sure wish we could still get the show out here.

Okay so on to a new subject.....I think this hatch that I have going right now just may end up being one of the best hatches that I have had. Let me clarify....may not be the best hatch in terms of hatch rate percentages but in terms of chicks arriving on time and me not having to help any out and so far not one has been stuck or shrink wrapped, and no chicks so far that hatched before they were done absorbing, etc..etc.
Here's what I did different this time around, I incubated the entire time at 50% humidity and out of 31 eggs set, all 31 made it to lockdown upon candling. They started hatching late last night right at day 21 almost down to the hour and are still pipping and going strong. 8 have hatched with atleast 7 or 8 more pips right now. I am very excited about this because here at my house after the first wave of chicks hatches I usually have a couple stragglers then the entire hatch is done..but even in the eggs that have not pipped there is lots of rocking and peeping. I hope they continue to pop like popcorn and without glitches.

sounds exciting...you'll have to keep us posted how this hatch goes with your settings! I love hearing about the things people do with their hatches and how they turn out. I've learned a ton and have tried a few and my hatch rates have definitely improved..particularly on the shipped hatching eggs.

Just opened a package of shipped eggs a few minutes ago, the post lady has my name and number next to her phone down at the local post office. If that's not an indicator I can't get a hold of Marans stock locally then I don't know what is.

I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for this batch....they are blue birchens...giving them another go round. I have some lavender silver sussex eggs coming in the next couple of days to go with these in the incubator...I am really looking forward to seeing what hatches this time around.

I was just eggcited about my BCM hatching this weekend. AND BTW they are from the Bev Davis line and I am keeping them all to myself.

Good luck with them Jennifer! I know egg-zaclty how you feel about keeping them all to yourself too...trust me.

It was like an act of congress for a couple years to get me off of any of them. DH finally told me that I could not possibly keep them all and that I had to step back into the now and face the real world.......my solution to that was to only put one foot back into the now and I am still keeping the other foot in my own little reality where it is okay to keep half of them.

If he only took the time to go out and count them all............

Good hatching vibes coming your way.

I want me some Blue Birchens SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad. I think I shall lay down in the middle of my living room floor and throw a fit until I get some even though I know it won't get them to me any faster. I want them from a certain breeder and at this time I must learn to be patient and wait because I know they aren't ready yet.

We'll see what I am really made of, if I can with stand the wait.
