That's it.....if I get a Splash cockerel in this seasons hatches that is nice enough to keep I'm going to bred up an entire flock of Splashers only!!!!!!

Now that I have downsized I am all excited about all the extra space to fill up.

Love those little Wy's too, they look nice!

Oh and Congrats Congrats Congrats on the show!!!!

Keeping the little LG incubators up to temp or with in range can be difficult if it is older and depending on how many hours the element has on it. Is it a still air 'bator or is it a forced air? Are the temps lower than desired or higher?

So the seller of the eggs had hens in with a Partridge Marans male? Do you know if the seller had Salmon Marans? Or did the seller have a Welsummer roo over the hens? Welsummers are partridge? Sorry if I am confusing you, don't mean to, just trying to clarify in my mind.

Good luck with your hatch.

thanks Kim! He was another boy everyone that saw him when he was young in my grow out pens said to cull because he grew in so awkwardly. He is gigantor's sidekick and boy do they keep everyone in line! They are nice to look at when they are just wandering around in the backyard.

The wyandottes I'm beyond thrilled with...they are solid and have correct tails without the cochiny fluff goin on. I got them for an absolute steal too!

I had a great weekend at the show for many reasons! Mostly I had tons of fun with the jokesters and haggling deals with some of them when it came to my stock I had for sale. It was just hilarious. Placing well didn't hurt either.

anyway......just thought that I would share some news that is exciting to me. Jeremy approached me a few months back and asked if I would donate some hatching eggs to the Bay Area Chickenswap raffle and of course I will and am very happy to...but what is really exciting to me is that Nifty Chicken is the winner of those eggs. My girls better get it together this spring and being laying nicey nice eggs for Nifty and family when it's time to ship them off.

Ohhhh and we have stuff happening in the 'bator. First chick hatched is a Blue Laced Barnie project baby and the other BLB project egg is pipped (I've never had good luck with very tiny pullet eggs and thought that the chicks would be small like the egg...not this chick is huge), along with 2 Barnie eggs and 1 Marans eggs from Lil' Bill's testers.

I didn't even candle until day 18 and did each one as I was transferring to lockdown. I hardly ever remember to candle early on.

Do you have any of those Blue Copper gals eggies in there?

hey Kim...you'll have to remind me to get a photo of one of my splash girls....she is just enormous! She's super shy and is the one that snuck into another pen to live because she is so shy....I'll try to get one for you tho. I really really really like her.

nope no Blue Copper girls eggs- no correct Marans boy to put her with-she is in the "girls only" pen right now. We have Blue Marans and Lt Brown Leghorn bantam eggs cooking in the bator. The leghorn eggs are tiny compared to the Marans
