X2  WAY too young.  I only cull for a few things at that age, clean shanks, weird combs... maybe a few other things as I see them. I will wait theyare bev davis lines and im hoping they molt with fingers crossed but it looks like I have 4 cockrils and one pullet and it was suppose to be the other way around I hope my splashes and my blues are not the same I will post pics tomorrow again with fingers crossed

(Probably would cull the roo with the red breast, BUT you could wait till a good molt and see if it goes away)

I have a few 3-6 week old chicks that are mossy. Would some of you share whether that is something you would cull for as chicks, or would you wait to see if that molts out? There is one cockerel that is VERY mossy, and I'm guessing that will be a problem. The pullets just show a bit, so would you wait it out?

Thanks!

Gonna pick up my second box of eggs from the P.O. this morning on my way to work. Nice thing is that I'll be able to run them in the incubator all at the same time! Hopefully can get them in the incubator tuesday night. Anyone else getting ready to set some eggs?

Hello Marans experts, have a question. This is a hen I have that came with fbcms I ordered last spring. I have wondered about her - she doesn't look like a lot of maran hens I see. She is HUGE and needs a "WIDE LOAD" sign on her butt. She has no copper anywhere and has very short legs. She IS a fbcm correct? Or did something else get slipped into my order? Her egg is not very dark.
Opinions? I'm thinking freezer camp soon....

I think the one on the left is pullet and right we decided yesterday was cockril any thoughts?

How old are your chicks. I am new to Marans and have some Black Coppers, Blue, Blue/Splash. Trying to compare mine to yours but wasn't sure how old yours were.
