I have no idea what the average is. I have a few that lay a 4, but I mostly get a 5-7.

I know a lot of you ship eggs, and I have a few questions. I shipped eggs years and years ago on a regular basis but a lot has changed. Now I want to start shipping eggs again.
I know I need to ship priority mail, but should I use flat rate boxes, or go by weight? Which priority boxes should I order from USPS?
Quote:I know a lot of people on e bay use the $ 15 dollar flat rate shipping boxes .....
It just depends on where it is going. Sometimes it is better to ship reg Priority. You just have to weigh it and see what the best rate is.
My impression is Black Coppers, but the other colors are gaining in popularity. What is the most popular, most sought after marans at this time? Black, Black Copper, Wheaten, etc.
Blue and Black Coppers will always be sought after since their eggs are darker than the other colors. I have not really seen a big trend for the other colors. Wheatens are popular but never had anyone ask for them. Cuckoos are great if you can find good ones with feathered legs.... whites were just admitted to the APA so they might be popular right now IDK. Good luck keeping up with the tends! What is the most popular, most sought after marans at this time? Black, Black Copper, Wheaten, etc.
wow that is a nice set up of eggs. I have hens from 3 different lines and mine average #4. I am hoping in the next year or two I can get them darker while improving some of the faults the birds haveI have two bloodlines of Black Coppers. The ones on the left (A) originated from My Pet Chicken.
The ones on the right (B) came from a well known breeder.
I have eliminated all the (A) roosters. I have (B) roosters only with both groups of hens.
I will be keeping the next batch of roosters only from the darkest eggs.
