No sir...it is not. No sprigs here, but I know exactly what you are seeing that would make you ask that. Gnarles has a sorta funky comb, 4 nice points and the 5th-ish just before the blade is split. His comb doesn't bother me in the slightest as I am not focusing on combs right now. I will get a good photo of his comb later, charging batteries again.

Just thought i would ask since you ask for a critique. The second picture sure looks like one to me.

Shelley, at MSU it was explained to me unless you had a sterile environment to keep the chicks in it would be a waste of time to vaccinate them after 24 hours.

I did a lot of research before I chose to begin vaccinating my flock and found many different beliefs in regards to Marek's and vaccinations. Do you know if there's any documentation in regards to research done by MSU to substantiate their beliefs? Please don't take this as me being stubborn and non-conceding.

I'm just wondering since there's so many differing opinions on the matter, by both experienced professionals and backyard poultry breeders. It would be nice if there was something published in regards to an actual research project that has been done.

.

I've admired him from other posts and was so hoping to get a Blue Copper roo from my Blue Copper gal after seeing him. Alas, my only roo
out of her was a Black Copper. Maybe next year...

He is marvelous!

Gads, this baffles me!

I just got a reply from our new member avian vet .... birdvet ....

There are not different stains, these are simply different methods of administration. One is not preferred over the other.

Dr B

Goes to show, if they aren't avian vets, they don't always know what they are talkin' about! Anyway, my local vet sure didn't. LOL

geebs, How was your day? Hope no horse problems today. Is the heat bad there? It was over 100* here today, with heat index above 110* they say. I don't know how the chickens can stand it. I walk out the door and break into a sweat!

Funny you should ask... Nope... I went up for a ride in the hills with a few good friends... It was a condolance ride arranged by my friends to consol me over the loss of my mare.....Well the mare didn't die so all is well there and the ride... Well Spectacular.. Totally uneventful exept that I lost my diet pepsi... that was the tragedy of the day.... Ha ha.

I come back here to find everyone is in bed again!!!
