Where are the folks that have been doing this stuff since they were knee high to a grasshopper ? ?

I don't where everyone is....but they should come around.

Thanks for your very kind words Math, but I am still learning right along with everyone else, I learn something about them everyday and I am very thankful for everyone who shares their experiences and wisdom with these wonderul birds.

My birds are not perfect at all or by far....but they sure are tons of fun.

Another question for ya.....does the thumbprint have to go through to the other side like you described? What I see on Lil' Bill does not.

The SOP describes it as

A disfiguring indentation in the side of a single comb.

I have never seen one that didn't indent on one side and pop out a little on the other side.....

I don't know if it is possible to indent on one side only . .

Evenin' everyone... its so nice to finally be home from work! Gotta open in the morning, but I'm taking it easy tonight and will work on finishing getting the house ready for my brother's family tomorrow after work. I'm worn out...

looks like you guys were busy while I was gone! Has the precise calculations for how to make the perfect Marans been solved yet?

Lil' Bill's comb left view. Check out the little white stuff happening above the eye, this is new and has just come in on him....we will see where this goes.

How's this for not going through to the other side of the comb?

I am gonna see if I can get Don to come take a look at it.
Since the sop says there only has to be an indention.... I am thinking doesn't have to stick out on the other side.

I am heading to bed.... It is 11:30 on the East Coast

Very nice work Math Ace. I truely love the visual associations you give with the DQ/Faults. I know its going to help someone like my self who is relatively new to adhering to SOP standards.

I defenitaley, look forward to the next thread, or an added section on your thread, of what the "good" is suppose to look like.

Thanks for your time...
