March 2017! Hatch with us!

Yes, true on my end as well.  But, for me, my sorting station is in Goleta - which is 70 miles north west of me.  But these eggs went to Los Angeles, which is 40 miles south east of me.  One box went to Santa Clarita, 30 miles north east of me, to Los Angeles, to Goleta, to me.  Did something change in the last 30 days that cause the extra trips?

I just think they fill trucks headed in a general direction without much concern for the duration of the trip. On one of my excursions to the PO with all of the craziness lately, a clerk actually chastised me for using priority mail instead of express if they were so important to me. I tried to politely explain that if express weren't more than double the cost of priority, and if they could guarantee it would mean less shaking of the package, I might agree. Live birds are a completely different situation all together, but I've express shipped eggs, and they fare about the same because of the automated sorting, etc.

Very sweet! I wonder if you put an ad in CL, if someone might have some poults they'd be willing to share with sweet Georgie. Maybe just a couple farm store chicks in the mean time?

Well friends, March is officially winding down, and I really want to thank you all for making this a positive and encouraging hatchalong experience all around. I especially appreciated the humble wisdom of longtime hatchers @WVduckchick and @Jessimom for answering those questions I had no idea how to answer!! Also, a huge heartfelt thank you to those of you who encouraged me through the ugly hatch I had this month - it was so nice to be able to share that burden with folks who truly understand!!
Best wishes to all of you who have Easter chicks arriving in a couple of weeks! :bun :jumpy
Blessings,
Kathy

I've been asking around everywhere and haven't had luck yet. One feed store gets them in, but won't have them for another week or so. :( I brought in another chick that was quieter, but Georgie just wanted to peck it. They are much smaller than the turkey since they are silkies and just hatched. I wish she would play nice, but I guess that's asking too much of a bird. :p

Very sweet of you, and you have been an awesome host! I must say this has been a very pleasurable hatch-along! Busy enough, but not too crazy, wonderful folks, many of which I had never run across before. Pics have been awesome and the support has been alot of fun. :yiipchick

Thank you for your warm and gracious hosting of this hatch-a-long. It's good to have each other for the ups and downs. As they say, friendships double joys and halve sorrows.

But wait! Don't everyone go yet... my hatch date is 3/31 (just squeaked in there), and I think there might be someone else still hatching this week. Yes?
