So my first chick hatched right at bedtime last night. The next 3 sometime during the night. Technically, day 21 doesn’t start until around 4pm today. I’ve got 4 chicks already on day 20. I’m totally ruined now! I’m like that 8 yr old kid that goes hunting for the first time and bags a 10 point monster. That’s a hard one to follow. So now I have 2 more EEs working on a zip and 4 with nothing. Also, my 12 BOs are doing absolutely nothing. Yes it’s early. I have to keep telling myself that.

I know what you mean! This was my first time hatching my own chicks and I am totally in love with the process. I have 10 Pita pinta eggs in lockdown and I can't wait.

Well no new progress after the first pips yesterday. Hoping the little buggers are just resting getting ready to bust out and there isn’t something wrong with them

Hoping they bust out soon. Do you hear chirping? Maybe play some chirping sounds for them. I have one egg left of the 8 from my flock with no pip yet and day 22. I can't tell if it is still alive or not. I candled this morning but don't see an internal pip.

I plan to put some eggs into the incubator today. Is it too late to join the March hatch-a-long, or would I need to wait for an April one? I really wanted to join the Easter one, but had to wait until my cockerel started fertilizing the eggs before doing a hatch. He's getting it done now and the eggs have nice bullseyes.

2 silkie, and a EE hatched st. patty day! The little Showgirl hatched this morning! Hoping the black silkie with the white, grows out with the white spots on its face! It come from my paint silkies!

I plan to put some eggs into the incubator today. Is it too late to join the March hatch-a-long, or would I need to wait for an April one? I really wanted to join the Easter one, but had to wait until my cockerel started fertilizing the eggs before doing a hatch. He's getting it done now and the eggs have nice bullseyes.

If they would be hatching in April I think you should definitely join the April hatch-a-long. I am trying to decide if I want to set another batch of eggs...

In the last 20 minutes they have been going crazy. The 3 that pipped yesterday now have all made pretty good holes and can see them moving plus hear some chirping. Another just started to pip. It’s going to be a very exciting day!!

My dh is already spoiling the new chicks. He is such a softy and that’s why I love him
