We have 1 little chick! Two more should be here soon. Hopefully. Kinda worried when this little one hatched she knocked one of the other two and it rolled so now the hole it chipped is facing down. Should I get in there and re set it facing up?

That little chick has been through a rough start. It started under a broody hen, at a friend's house. She said her hen left it since the others hatched. So she brought it, for my broody to finish off. Well my chicks hatched, and then I found it cold one morning, because my hen left it. So I texted her and asked if she wanted to give it one last chance. And put it in my incubator. Sure enough 4 days later we have a cute showgirl cross! It's a tough little thing, probably a rooster lolMmanist- I want NN!
So sorry about your shipped eggs, they are always such a gamble. We're on day #12 now
Did some more candling, and it's starting to look like I'll only get three chicks from this time around.
None of the remaining shipped eggs look to be where they should be in terms of growth and development. Sad, I really thought I'd get a couple of chicks, but I think the handling during shipping was too harsh or the temperatures too cold. Nothing anyone could have done about it.
Three of the four from my yard look good (last didn't develop at all). I love seeing the appenzeller mix, it's my first white egg to be incubating and I can see much detail and movement inside. I swear tonight I saw the little feathers starting to come in.
I'm wondering when I should think about removing any clear eggs or eggs with poor development.
I had 2 of mine do that. They figured it out without my intervention.View attachment 2578889

There is an April hatch-a-long just started would recommend joining that one, as your eggs willl be hatching in April.I plan to put some eggs into the incubator today. Is it too late to join the March hatch-a-long, or would I need to wait for an April one? I really wanted to join the Easter one, but had to wait until my cockerel started fertilizing the eggs before doing a hatch. He's getting it done now and the eggs have nice bullseyes.
I would, but others would not.View attachment 2578889
