MARCH 2021 HATCH-A-LONG 🌷🌸🌼

Where did you get the yellow egg rack? Takes up so much less room then the cartons! Looks like it fits perfectly in the NR360.😊
They are from my Chinese incubator that I got on Amazon. I took them out for lockdown on that incubator, so I tried them in the NR360 and they fit from corner to corner.

Rural King also sells egg turners for one of there incubators they sell.

Good thing I didn't take the Guinea egg out I thought quit. candled again and it has a live embryo in it!! it's soo odd because when I candled last I swear all I saw was what looked like a partial blood ring and nothing else, but just now it looks exactly like the other viable egg. I'm going to have to tell the Mr of my mistake gently since he just got me two ducklings to make me feel better

25 silkie eggs out for delivery today!
The breeder is giving me some extras so I’m not sure exactly how many more there will be. I have two incubators running right now. One has some silkies on day 12 also shipped and sitting upright. And two other eggs in the other incubator that should hatch today. So timing is just about perfect with no room to spare.😊

The above eggs I have will hatch next week, they are from my own eggs. I was going to set 6 eggs from my chickens in the incubator for the March hatch-along, and then changed my mind. I am coming into a hatch day for shipped eggs (day 20) and it looks like some may be behind. (Maybe I am rushing it because it is only day 20.) I think what I want to do on my last 4 is place them in a diff position in incubator, and try one degree-or.5 higher. So for science's sake I am going to set 4 more. (they may not all be fertile.) This time I chose 2 tan, one dark, and one green.
So welcome to March hatch along...Thanks.:th

In case you missed it, here is my first shipped egg baby.

Came from an egg marked Mosaic, but the egg was blue- I do love blue eggs.

I was able to intercept the eggs at the post office before they got put on the truck this morning to prevent that extra leg of their journey! Photos below shows the unpacking process. They were beautifully packed, some of the best I have seen. Double boxed, in foam, air-cells up. Clear instructions. If the post office kept the boxes upright then good chance the air cells didn’t get detached. We will see!
There were no extras after all. She must’ve mistaken my order for somebody else’s that she had. In any event 25 eggs is plenty and if even half of these hatch I will be happy! 😊
