Just an update, I was so nervous because I never did an assist like this before. Not only was she stuck with her head under her wing she was shrink wrapped. I got her out and cleaned up, keeping fingers crossed that she makes it now.

Update. Moved the 3 that hatched to the brooder with the polish that we bought last week. Egg number 4 should be hatched soon. Starting to see signs of zipping and egg 5 pipped. Nothing from egg 6 yet but we will just wait a little longer.

One of my bronze sweetgrass eggs hatched, only one so we had to get 2 chicks for him.

I have my first pip on the second set of 16 eggs!!! These are the Pita Pintas they are day 20.. I had 11 that made it to lockdown.

Chick 4 is here and number 5 is starting to zip. Really wasn’t expecting that so soon since it just pipped an hour or so ago

And just like that there were 5. Had to help the 5th one a bit she didn’t quite zip a big enough hole and couldn’t squeeze out so made the hole a little bigger.

1 week left and my incubator is looking pretty scarce.
I candled and tossed seven eggs today, all my remaining lavender Orpingtons, the welsummer, and a couple of the speckled Sussex.
I thought I'd do an egg-topsy to see if I can learn more for the future, and the insides looked about what I'd excepted. Some off air-cells, a scrambled yolk or two. One had a bit of blood, but no veins or embryo to be seen. Early quitters and non-starters I think, poor guys never had a chance.

I have two speckled sussex left I'm not sure about. Don't think they'll hatch be you never know.
My three other eggs are looking great, I'm really curious to see what kinds of chicks hatch.

We gave it our best shot. I'm sure our next hatch with our own silkie eggs will have better results, and maybe once the snow is completely gone we can try ordering more eggs.

Wow! Congrats everyone on the beautiful babies!!! All the photos are making me so inpatient for mine! I am locking down my shipped eggs a day early so we should have some action and hopefully all out by Thursday. First time getting shipped eggs to this point of incubation...so not sure how to feel. Everyone was moving and looking good tonight while I drew their air cells lines and put them into cartons hopefully encouraging them to pip at the proper end. One looked like it could be a malposition so hopefully it can make it through.

I have a couple of external pips.. felt confident with 8 eggs going into lockdown but dont think everyone will hatch now, just a feeling!
