For what it’s worth, it’s better to lock down sooner so the chicks can get into position. Good luck on your hatch!

Im so confused as to when to lock down. So do you think I should lock down tonight or candle tonight day 18 and lock down tomorrow? Also is it dangerous to candle them tonight, I mean if they are already in position will candling make them drown or something? They were moving in the eggs just now...Im uploaded a quick video to show the movement.

Here is the third video I took, this one is my maran moving, I can't post the first two because I was squealing with excitement and its so embarrassing. This one is bad enough with my commentary...the other two I saw move were my cream legbars

I know I wasn’t going to mess with them on until 7 but well I was turning them anyways so I candled while I was at it. It’s now day 4 for most of them.

4 that I couldn’t tell yesterday I could clearly tell there is growth. 1 I think see something but not sure so I’m not counting that one.

There was one yesterday that I thought was developing but now a day later I think it’s a blood ring. Looking back at pictures it kinda looked like the ring was there but not as dark. I left it for now.

There is one other that I couldn’t tell yesterday and today the air cell is oddly shaped (very wavy) ...I see veins but no embryo. So I’m not sure about that one.

Here is that egg that I think is a blood ring..

I’m not counting my chicken before they hatch but..

Whenever you candle and it's day 18, do the lockdown then.

About a couple of hour's ago, I thought that I had seen one of the hatching egg's move in the incubator. I stood and watched for a bit, making sure that none of me was touching to cause the egg to move, and sure enough! It did it again! I don't see any cracks in the egg's yet, though.

really dumb question #475...where is the pip? I dont see it.

If you look at my video above my eggs were moving today...3 of them and Im only on day 18. total newbie but I never expected that..it was awesome

Ok, ill candle a little later tonight and then Ill lock down...now i just have to figure out how to stop my brinsea from turning the eggs.
