Membrane turning brown

Ok my original concern was chick pipped on bottom which is hard to see and hard to determine when that happened
I flipped egg yesterday and it immediately looked like membrane was brown and hard
Chick was very active and has clicking noise in lungs from fluid which I’ve seen before and it was not a big deal
The pip hole was pretty big and chick was active for 7 hours with no progress and then the chick seemed to be heavy breathing giving up which is not the case after reading sally sunshine’s article I wish I hadn’t opened the incubator but what’s done is done
The chicks awake and pecking at the shell clockwise and doing everything right
I see why a lot of people would be nervous if the membrane is brown but I honestly don’t think that should be the soul reason to perform an assisted hatch or even to intervene
And while writing this he has now unzipped almost completely

The amount of brown on your egg looked fine to me. Any exposed membrane is going to dry up and get brownish. It's when the entire thing starts getting brown and dry and no more progress is being made and the general time frame has elapsed. . I don't think there is one definite thing that tells you when to assist. Membrane turning brown is just one of the many factors to consider.
