Mine are all woolly monsters right now. Well, the boys are. I have a blanket for my little mare, so she has this awful poodle clip going on.

I'm so envious shadowpaints. I've been wanting a cart and harness for years, and a trailer and truck would be nice too...

Here's an older pic of my three, running away.

If you want a cute and small mini get yourself a dwarf... The 2 in my avatar, Dainty and Buster are 6 years old. My rott.mix dog is bigger than them.. Dwarves gained popularity as seeing eye horses..

I wouldn't let my onery ones lead me across the backyard let alone out in traffic..

Don't they tend to have more health issues due to being dwarfed?

Wow i'm glad you started this thread as I was needing to learn all that I can about minis in a short amount of time. I am going to Florida next weekend to pick up 2 registered mini mares, a Black 10 yr old mare 32 inches and a Grey 6 yr old mare 29 inches, both girls have been shown and done very well from what i'm told. And while I have large horses and know all about taking care of them. These will be the first minis on the place, so i'm thankful for all the info.

Oh and beautiful pics of everyones minis.

Two pieces of advice that are almost treated as gospel on a mini forum that I regularly visit:

Don't use Bute on minis. The margin for error is very small, it is too easy to overdose a mini with Bute and give it ulcers (which can happen even at the correct dose, too).

Don't use Quest wormer on minis. There are lots of folks who will tell you, "I've used Quest on my minis many times with no problems," but once again, the margin for error is very small, many people overestimate a mini's weight, and overdosing with this product can kill a mini outright. Better to be safe and sure than sorry!
