How rude!Go on. Push me out to the fringes of chicken keeping.
It will be I shouldn't even be on the site next, because I'm not a proper backyard chicken keeper.
Can you beleive someone actually said that to me and the person was/is well known.
Oh dear...Thank you,. Where is @WhoDatChick to defend the EE too!
Being a total newbie when I chose my chickens, I did some research to determine which breeds are more likely to be docile, friendly together, and more laid back. I did pretty good, and my girls get on pretty well. Maybe I just got lucky.Oh dear....... I'm not having potshots @ EEs. Really I'm not. I am however very curious about what seems to be wildly divergent personalities.
I do look @ breed standards for personality. Mostly I've found them to be pretty accurate for out here & as ACM has just said, her EEs follow the breed personality. Even given individual personalities it seems a little strange to me that some birds are so very different. I see the same thing with Wyandottes. All mine have been lovely but reading around a lot of people seem to have got very difficult, dominant birds & I have never seen that with mine.![]()
