Muscovy Madness!

She is a pitbull mix. We adopted her last yr. after our other dog passed to age. We love the breed. It is sooooooo funny watching the muscovies and Merci follow each other around the yard. Merci slowly walks behind them or they follow her around

I thought I recognized the breed. I have two pits. I don't think mine would be nice to my muscovies, though. My pits are not aggressive, but they are territorial. I wish I had had ducks when they were pups. We were given the ducks only about 5 months ago.

I am going to have one confused kid!!! Our Pekin and Muscovy Both sat on one nest. One hatched, and now the Pekin has taken over parenting. Poor kid is not going to know how to act! Hopefully he/she will learn the typical Muscovy dance vs. the Loud mouth Pekin!!!

Mine are 9-10 -14yrs old my females have about lost all their coloring pretty much white now. All but my 14 yr old I guess the more wild type (black) don’t. Sure do love them.

I have been wonderin about colors. My parent ducks are all white, and the first ducklings are all white. It appears the new ducklings will also all be white. Is there any chance of getting another color?

My first females were all white with blue eyes and my rescued Muscovy drake was the wild type. They never gave me an all white duckling. So bringing in some color will give you some color.

Wow! 14 years! That is really awesome! I’m guessing they lose their coloring in time kinda like how people get gray hairs?

I love the blue eyes! Ducks have so much personality. I was a chicken gal (and still am) for over 10 years but… Ducks are pretty awesome too!
