you know those people who just think that they lost a duck, i don't understand them, for me its like I'm losing a child since i hatch mine, and its like I can't function for a day because like ya know i lost one of my babies and every time i lose one i just like cry, not meaning to sound sappy but its true

I have had the same problem but I caught the culprit red handed raiding the nest and scarfing up the eggs. I was a huge water snake. My ducks live on an island on a large pond so I can't watch every second and protect them from the snakes. I collect eggs every day and artificially incubate them now.
