My Araucana & Ameraucana eggs! Now with PICS ;)

My lone chick hatched on day 23 - and I'm pretty sure he is one of the amerecauna chicks (had different "purebred" eggs - his was light green) Now look how much trouble he is! You don't want them to hatch early - they are onery!

When my fan was down the temp spiked to 104 ... probably ok as still air need to run a bit higher anyway... but between that and everything else I was a nervous wreck! Luckily my fan is working again and everything is back and stable. I have 4 pips.... but one has me worried because where it pipped I can see a bloody vein. Is this normal???? The others are white like my last batch I hatched. I hope it makes it out ok. That one I candled, the one my son pulled out, is a mouthy little thing. Has been peeping quite a bit now that it has pipped the shell. Taking it's sweet precious time hatching of course

I'm feeling a bit better.... but with a throbbing headache from lack of sleep, coupled by my son's ability to unlatch the bedroom door and open the bator!

Your son was just showing you the egg with the chick who is most like him! He already feels an attatchment. Two year olds are great! I'm sorry you have a head-ache - hope it gets better.

p.s. When my youngest was two she got mad when sent to her room for a time out and took out the screen and left.

LOL Yeah, he finally fell alseep for a nap.... and I a short little nap too. Feeling a bit better and I imagine he will be less cranky when he wakes

Things are looking pretty good... none have hatched yet.... but I am feeling much better having seen some pips. So much craziness the last two days I thought for sure something had gotten messed up!

My first chick has hatched!!!! Is either blue or splash

Soooooooooooooooo frellin cute!!!!

Of course, my camera took a dump on me last week and I have to send it in for repairs. So I'm using a backup camera

BL/SPL The lighting is only from that indoor bulb

Makes everything look so very green/yellow

And my backup camera does not correct this as well as my good one did!
