My broody Jade, went broody at the end of March.
I wanted to add new blood to my flock so i recieved shipped eggs. She had sat on golf balls for a couple weeks while i shopped and waited for them to arrive.
So they were due to hatch on April 27th and we did not get one chick hatch. I felt so bad for her i went to TSC last night before they closed and picked out 6 chicks for her.
After dark i removed the eggs that failed to hatched and slid the chicks under her.
This morning, she has had them out to eat and drink and mom and chicks are happy and contented.
I picked the last white leghorn girl and 5 chicks from the straight run bin with asian blacks, astralorps and silver laced wyandotts.
I think i picked girls, but time will tell.
