Isn't that vodka? And doesn't cranberry juice have alot of sugar?

OK Boyd - I'm sitting here DYING for my glass of wine and now you've got me ready to go get some!

Is this allowed on a diet? Hmmmmm....

Yeah, it is vodka

But on the other hand, my total caloric intake including the soup is just about 1100. ?! I know I did the math but I am full and I had a mixed drink. Somethings weird about eating healthy!

BOYD:
I get the calorie thing, but I'm giving up the alcohol (or at least I'll try

)

One drink per day is all that you're "supposed" to have according to most medical blah, blah, blah. I like my beer, I'm not going to lie to you, but I feel it affects my liver and makes me feel bloated and - dare I say it - I do feel better when I DON'T have a couple!

Sometimes if I have my 2 or 3 drinks I lose some discipline and may drink more or have some snacks. I know it's not what I should be doing.

If you can do the drinks then I

you! More power to you. For me, I'm going to cut them out and not replace those calories since I'm pretty sure they are what added my 20 lbs on to begin with

I haven't started my exercise yet. I wanted to see how the diet is going to change my energy levels. I've had enough unhealthy habbits in my life, I don't want to shock my body all at once!!

I think it's great you're jumping on board! Lets all do this

Ok, can you tell me why you want to lose your muscle mass? Muscle is the good stuff.
You need to lose the fat, not the muscle. Your BMI does not take into consideration muscle.
The more muscle you have, the more calories it takes your body to maintain that muscle. Thus more caloric intake allowed.
To lose the fat you need to cut down on carbs after 4 pm. Stick to protein and some veggies.
You can have carbs up until 4 and then cut them out.
The reason: you cannot burn fat if your insulin levels are high. You simply can not. Eating carbs spike your insulin levels.
So...during the night while you are sleeping and the body is ready to burn fat, it can't.
That is why some people say "I eat like a bird and can't lose weight"
They may truly be eating a good healthy diet but they snack on carbs at night. Your body needs to go into lipolisis to burn fat. If your insulin levels are high, that is not possible. Then during the day when you eat more carbs you aren't burning the fat either.
Carbs are the first choice your body will use when it decides to burn calories up. Keep eating carbs and no fat is burned.
Cut that out, eat between 1500 to 1900 calories a day using a 33-33-33 ratio of protein, carbs and fat (with most of your carbs in the a.m. and lunchtime. But have some of each with each meal. Vary your caloric intake each day.
Eating too little food will actually lower your metabolism. Not good.
Eat at least 5 meals a day. keeps the metabolism burning. Kind of like a car, you must keep fuel in it to keep it going.
Stop eating 3 hours before bed.
Do not eat starchy veggies at night either such as corn, peas, carrots, beets, lima beans.... stick to tomatoes, mushrooms, peppers, pickles, broccoli, celery.
It is hard to get used to, but the viscereal fat (what we store around our insides) will go away.
Count those calories though, it is too easy to forget that creamer in the coffee, or that handful of nuts.
