Well this morning as I am leaving for work I see Lucky fly and land on a neighbors roof.. Should be interesting when I get home from work. I never planned on trimming his flight wings, but if he is going to bother the neighbors I might not have an option.

They just love to fly and never realize they could be in deep trouble for doing so. Hope the neighbors don't have dogs and like ducks.
Downfall this neighbor has a mini pack of dogs.. His biggest one has been known to kill opossums.. So it would not put past me for him to go after Lucky if he is in their yard.

Updates on Lucky, he ended up hiding at night on the neighbors pool cage, had to spray him off with a hose to get him back over, we clipped one wing. The next night he was gone again, couldnt find him. Next morning he was on the neighbors pool cage again. This time we clipped the other wing as well. Hopefully this keeps in him the yard, dont want one of the neighbor's dogs to get him. Tonight he was still in the yard, and i scooted him into the duck house with the others as I closed it. Maybe if I ever get the chance to build the duck house i want to (taller and longer) i can put something inside for him to roost on, that he can get up to without flight.

I have to clip both wings on my scovies to keep them flightless. they are amazing. and it actually looks better too. Glad you have him grounded. Doesn't sound like it would have ended well for him being able to fly. Yep most of my females roost on 2X4 with the chickens only my drake stays on the floor.

We had to clip both of Lucky's wings, now he is staying in the yard. He is just massive for being the youngest of the ducks. Cleaner and Mal are laying fertilized eggs so Prince is doing his job. However Princess has still not started to lay yet, hopefully soon.
