To recap....
Started with 3 Pekin Ducklings (6 weeks old)from Rural King, found out they were Niacin Deficent, so started treating them with Niacin in their water. Since i am unique I wanted a different breed as well and got a Blue Swedish Duckling (2 weeks old) from a Breeder. 1 of the Pekins died after i brought it to a wildlife rescue to see if they could help it, developed breathing problems from the deficiency for so long. 1 Pekin now named Cleaner, has a deformed leg, but eats, drinks, swims, walks (with a limp) and does everything else a duck does. The last Pekin (Pearl) came back fully from the Niacin treatments. The Swedish no problems what so ever. After losing the one we decided to get a male since we planned on four. Went to a person breeding and only planned on one duck, but since she had two males who had bonded and followed each other around we ended up with both. So added 1 Blue (fault) Swedish Drake and 1 Indian Runner Drake. Total of 5. Well after reading posts yesterday came across a Duckling in Need an hour away from me. Was abandoned by its mom and siblings, attempted to give back and was being pecked at. So went and picked it up from the member on here who was unable to fully take care of it, now have a 5 day old Muscovy Duckling. Grand total of 6. I planned on doing some small breeding with the ducks to let my daughters hatch them and see how they grow for science and animal learning. This gives us a chance to raise a newly hatched duckling. Wish us luck.

Thank you for giving all these animals a good home!! I hope you love them as much as we do here at BYC!:ya

If you have more questions don’t hesitate to ask. Everyone here loves to share their experiences and have a good time.

You will have a yard full next year.

Bless you ducks are such cool birds and scovys can be made into a wonderful pet. Where it will let it's family pet it. My scovy drake is such a cuddle bug.

So the duckling not sure if it is the vent or a scab. Noticed some poop was stuck to it so she was given a bath and cleaned up a little, then my wife happened to tell me that it seems there is a scab there. Was kind of closer to where i would expect the vent to be? Not sure the color a vent should be or look like on a Muscovy Duckling. She is eating, drinking and walking around fine.

Your duck sounds like what happened to my neighbors female. It’s not really a problem, they just sit a lot. Also, I hate to be a grammar nazi, but it’s Pekin, not Peking

How about pooping is she pooping good? could just be where the umbilicus was attached as long as she is pooping, vent is under tail on the body. That does look like possibly the vent how does it look now that she has soaked?

I do appreciate it, I know it is Pekin, but I believe its my work computer automatically correcting the error it believes.
