probably because of how hard they are to hatch....don't worry...you're not alone....I have tried two years ago with 4 and none hatched...but I had them in with mallards etc...and didn't wash my hands and all that...this time..they are alone and I am doing everything everyone else is telling me to do...now I am on day 21..and getting anxious(I have two).....and four on day 6

sorry my internet wasnt working last night, i still am having trouble syncing my camera to the computer... b ut as for the eggs, one of the others piped a tiny hole, and the other has a bigger hole, they ae doing good but not much progress, how long does it usually take before they hatch?

i might have posted too soon... the first one looks like hes rotating and pushing hi beak up to break mre shll! so maybe in a few hours he will be out.... oh and if i cant get pics of the hatch on this comp.... ill use theother coputer

I have had a really difficult time with my sebbie goslings hatching. Once they pip, I only give them 36 more hours and then I help them out. Most of them make it about 2/3 of the way around and that is it.

During that time, I check the gosling often and talk to it giving it encouragement to get out of that shell......

If they haven't gotten out at the end of 36 hours, I crack the shell a little bit at a time, leaving the membrane intact and just keep going back often to make sure they are making progress. I usually end up cracking the shell enough so that they get out on their own. I never pull a gosling out of the shell.

Keep the humidity up as high as you can!

Hi everyone. I've been reading the posts on this thread and am happy that you are all doing well with your hatches. I just received 6 mixed-breed goose eggs from my mom and placed them in the incubator. This will be my first time using my new Christmas present (incubator...) so wish me luck! I also have a broody hen sitting on a clutch of eggs in the coop, which should be hatching ANY MINUTE.

One question --- if you don't touch the eggs with your hands when you turn them, do you use, like, rubber gloves, or something like that?

Gwen
