Also he had a grumpy old man moment, getting all tall and mighty and chattering at a young fledgling Sparrow that tried to enter the house via an open window. It was like a "Get off my lawn! " moment.

And an outtake when he had lost interest and was in explore mode, but I wanted to gif him playing with it... Human treadmill.

Also note, don't pick up your quail from the above unless it is tame and docile enough to allow it, or the bird will freak out thinking a predator is grabbing it. Scrappy is a very tame bird who is used to being handled daily.

Quail enrichment can be anything, from treats, toys that garner their curiosity, toys they can grab and shake around, things to climb on and dig under to just general handling and cuddling.

Scrappy however isn't used to Lulu being out at the same time...

This lover's quarrel didn't last long however after I relocated the two of them to the floor and they started foraging together.

My quail have a similar move, which we call Ninja. It involves crouching down, sticking their tail straight up into the air, and moving about rapidly.

... I got so in the zone with building in Starbound that I didn't notice Scrappy leave the couch. When I noticed, I started looking around like mad as he wasn't even in the room, or house... He was just minding his own business on the back yard enjoying the weather.He is fine as I gave him a look over, he is just mildly annoyed that I brought him back inside.

Watching TV with this old potato making quiet little quail clucks, a noise he does if he finds food, though more rapid then, or just feels happy. It is like a soft little "Bup bup bup bup" when just chilling, whilst when he finds food, it is a rapid fire of "dodododododo." I love how his tail bobs when he does it.
