My scarecrow receives hate mail

The person is just a jerk, nothing more.

There is nothing wrong with someone not liking it as was expressed by MissPrissy.
That is a personal opinion. We all have different tastes in humor. We are human.
I found the scarecrow funny but wouldn't think any less of someone who found it
vulgar. Again, it's personal.

I would also ask that we stop jumping to conclusions about this person being a
religeous zealot or right winger.

All we really know is the person doesn't like it and is too cowardly to disclose their
identity, hence, a jerk. Actually, making judgements about a person's parental
skills based on a scarecrow makes the person an even bigger jerk.

My dear 'whatever you are',
It has come to my attention that within the neighborhood with the freakishly hilarious mooning scarecrow lives a deprived woman. She probably has a desensitized husband by her side, but is lacking humor... and more so lacking children to make her laugh. She lacks the joys in being lighthearted over simple things. I'm sure if she bent over and removed whatever was stuck in her rear end, she too may laugh again someday.
To the best of my knowledge a good parent would have taught her, if she had nothing nice to say, that she shouldn't have said anything at all.

Have a great Halloween!

I agree PC I didn't get offended by Miss P's comment, which if the letter said what she said I wouldn't have gotten so upset. To say I was a bad parent and to conclude that filth goes on in my house was over the top.
I don't believe this was from an over zealous christian, Because they wouldn't have judged my family.
We all have opinions, and I do respect that. I just couldn't believe they attacked me like that.
Believe me I have seen somethings done in poor taste or neighbors making signs that I don't agree on, but I would never write a letter to them attacking their character.
I posted to see if maybe I was way off base thinking this wasn't so offensive!
I didn't think so but I started to doubt myself, I know I can't please everyone, but I hate when someone is mad at me of doesn't like me, it drives me insane.
I ware my heart on my sleeve, I have thin skin. I hate confrontation.
I just found my scarecrow so funny, and in my life I need all the laughter I can get!!!
I expected someone to frown upon it, just not in this way!

What conclusions do those statements lead you to?

You did nothing wrong. In fact if a neighbor knocked on your door, nicely told you
they don't want their 3 year old seeing that because he will start mooning everyone,
and asked you to pull up the pants I'm sure you would do that just because you
are a good person.

The way they attacked you is what p*ss'd off most of us here. That letter is rude,
extreme, judgemental, and just plain stupid. The writer obviously has issues of some
sort and wanted to hurt you with words. Don't let them win.

Mama always said "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all". Some folks have no sense of fun. Personally, I'd be more offended by some of the displays I've seen that combine good clean Halloween fun with politics....

Don't worry about these folks, they've obviously got a stick of their own in a very uncomfortable spot, and just envy your scarecrow! Hope your week is Spooktacular:jumpy

I've learned that everyone judges everyone... some are just lousy people who decide they need to voice their opinions loudly so all can hear. I've recently had to deal with a woman asking me for FREE items I sell, and when I declined she decided to continuously harass me on how I was missing out and I was such a sad sounding person. Then she went on to say she was praying for me, and that God will save my soul. Needless to say, I had to report her to the site, but she continued to contact me and then wanted to bring me over to be a born again?! I was never unborn!!!

People are just rude... and how they interpret things doesn't have to make sense to everyone else. I guarentee you that for any one person who would say such things, there are 1000 who would NEVER say such a thing. Honestly, you should just let it go. Throw out the letter and forget it. It was one persons worthless opinion.
