The color in Nankins is one of the issues we need to address. Most of the hens seem to fade as they age. In my original 5 hens, 4 of them(2 2008 and 3 2009) the color has faded over time. One has held her color, the black in the wing and tail will also fade. I breed the light hens to the darkest cocks available. I will post a couple pics of the older hens later. thing we have to watch is the color of the lobes. They should be solid red. I have seen several with blue or white in the lobes, both are faults.
