Sounds like he's on his way to figuring it out! May just take a couple of trys before he'll get it all down. Just speculating mind you, but i remember when i started feeding the wild baby birds it took me and them a bit to get it together. But once we did it was an easy task. Hopefully its the same with pigeons..:fl
Give it time... you'll get the hang of it in no time. Then, once you're a comfortable "old pro" feeding him, maybe you'll be able to get pics..;) :D
I can imange its nerve wracking!:hugs

Sounds good. Even with my older baby I was confused about whether or not I had filled his crop enough, that's why I took to using the scale before and after feeding - just to reassure myself.
I would hold him for a minute or 2 before offering the food, just to be sure he is warm and alert enough.
I would submerge the bottle in a cup of hot water to re-warm and keep the temp correct.
They are quick learners and he will improve his eating skills quickly.

This was my experience with Doo. He taught me about how to feed a young pigeon and I taught him to exploit a surrogate mom. loll
