Its funny....the first time i tried it i dripped a bunch onto her vent and i was not expecting this at all but...
She started sucking it INTO HER VENT. hahaha, i thought that was weird.
So sorry to hear the bad news.We had to put Fried Rice down today.![]()
For the past week, she's been sleeping in the nesting boxes. I didn't think anything of it, because those are so warm with the straw. Kung Pao has been cuddling up beside her. Last night, I put my hand in there as I locked up the chickens and it was toasty. Anyway, this morning she didn't come outside with the others. I put my hand under her to check for duck eggs, thinking maybe she was broody or just trying to lay, and she toppled on her side. So I brought her in (she fought a bit) and ran her a warm bath in the sink, thinking she was egg-bound and I had to act fast. But as I let her soak in the warm water, I noticed that she was skinny, some of her feathers had sheared off or fallen out, and she was gasping but wasn't making a sound. I'm thinking maybe she had an impacted crop? Though her crop was empty. And she didn't feel like she had an egg in there. She looked so miserable that we just said goodbye.
Thankfully, Russ hadn't needed to go into work early. I love that man so much!![]()
