New and Nervous!! HELP please

Oh no! Both of the last 2 have their feet over their head!! :barnie

The first one I started trying to help looks like it might possibly not have obsorbed all of the yoke...:he
I’m not completely sure.... so I added pix but that’s what it looks like to me.

I put it in a little cup sitting upright to try to give it time to absorb. It’s back in the incubator.

How long does absorption take? What should I do? Should I put coconut oil on yoke/membrane. Yoke has not ruptured but it looks stuck to membrane.

Looks like quite a bit of yolk left to absorb. Putting it in a cup was good. You've already removed enough shell, it shouldn't need moistened any more. Just let it sit in the cup and hopefully within a few hours it will continue to absorb. If it makes it to morning, it should be all absorbed by then.

I guess it’s just a waiting game now. This is so incredibly heart breaking!

The second one I decided to leave alone. I already opened it enough where I could see that it’s feet were over its head and put coconut oil on it. I’m terrified it hasn’t absorbed also. I just assumed they had since they are a day late— bad assumption :(

Both are so still and so quiet.... so I panicked and “intervened”.
 
Well, of the 2 babies the one that I chose not to help as much seems to be improving. It is starting to peep and has now pulled its head out of its shell. It’s still a little lethargic and looks like it might be absorbing just a little bit more yoke because it’s still yawning and nibbling. I went on ahead and put it in a cup also just in case it’s still absorbing.

The baby I tried to help this morning seems a little stronger too but still has a lot to absorb and is mostly quiet.... only peeps every once in a while.

I will give an update soon, but for right now they are resting. Thank you to everyone for all of the advice and well wishes!

Good job with putting them in the cups. Hopefully they finish absorbing quickly :)
 
This morning I went ahead and helped it unzip since it was on day 29. I took the shell part off in a line like the baby would do and didn't unzip the bottom. (so a semi circle) I pinched the white membrane so it would be easy to tear and put it back. It pushed its way out a few minutes later. I was already late for work so when I got back today, it was the first thing I checked. It is very lively BUT...OMG it has a small grape sized yolk sac still not absorbed. I called vet. She said I could put iodine and triple antibac AROUND the yolk sack on the belly but NOTHING on the yolk itself. And to put it in as clean and sterile environment as possible and restrict movement. I did that and put it in a clean bowl full of paper towels, put more on top, and then taped a spaghetti strainer on top and taped it on (with Duck Tape of course) to keep it from jumping out. She said if it does not absorb by tomorrow, she can do a simple procedure to tie it off.... I just NEED to keep it from becoming septic. omg.. omg...omg.... so much drama in such a little package. Here is my duck prison...
