New chickens sick don't want to spread to my flock

Hi all so I couldn't get into the vet they were fully booked out, but after further checks today 2 of the chooks are looking well no lice or bugs to be seen and very lively took a bit to catch to check them over lol but I did notice one of them has a red ring around her vent best way to describe it is it looks like it's sun burnt??? Other then that she's fine. As for the sick girl she's still not moving around is drinking and eating food so I made up the vitamin and mineral drink and placed infront of her with some fresh veg and pellets see how she goes in morning I also made up the same vitamins etc for the other 2 just because it won't hurt and gives them anything they are low on, back to the sick girl after I checked her over she has no mites or lice or bugs even under a magnifying glass lol but when I put her down she put out her wing and basically fell to her side almost tipped over I thought well she's going to die went out few hours later and she was sitting up drinking the vitamin water and having a peck at the food so hoping to see that she's moved in the morning will keep you all up to date with what's happening. But anyone know what the sunburnt looking ring around the vent would be this isn't on the sick looking chook either?. Thanks

Yep. Sounds like these new chickens are victims of being eaten alive by mites. Both permethrin and spinosad are recognized organic pesticides so your gentleman where you purchased these birds can only be described as lazy and ignorant, and he should be shut down and not allowed to sell chickens.

@JaeG gave you some great advice, and surely if New Zealand has a certain product, Australia would, also. The pesticide mentioned has permetrin as an active ingredient, and it's quite safe and effective. Mix up a "dip" and dip these little guys in it. Do it again in one week, and again a week after that.

Spray down everything these chickens have come into contact with, and do it again in a week, and a week after that.

Elector PSP is the spinosad alternative to permethrin, more long lasting, but more expensive. It works in a different manner, by enzymatic action. I've used both and like the spinosad a lot.

The red ring around the vent on the one chicken is likely from the mites feasting on the blood in that area. And the sick chicken is likely anemic from having so much blood sucked by these parasites, although there could be a secondary infection going on where an antibiotic is now required. When immune systems get hammered, bacteria can take advantage.

If she maybe anemic, how about feeding all of them chicken livers. Worked great for me after a tough delivery.

UT I just brought 3 chickens from an organic chicken farm and they are full of lice /bugs and one is sick she just sits all hunched up and eyes closed she will move if u go near her I called the man I got them from and he said that "were and organic farm, we don't worry about mites or lice or worms"

I'm sorry that you are having problems.
Getting the lice/bugs treated is a very good idea.

It's good that you are keeping these birds away from your flock. Even if the vet can't see them, see if they will accept a fecal sample to test for worm and Coccidiosis overload.

With chickens it's hard to know sometimes what might be causing illness, so you may want to write down your observations.
For all the new birds, poultry vitamins, extra protein along with a nutritionally balanced poultry feed won't hurt.

Lice need treatment 10 days apart until all live lice and nits are gone. I would try to get some amprollium from a vet or feedstore to treat for possible coccidiosis, if you cannot get a dropping sample checked. Keep this chickens away from your other birds for at least 30 days to make sure they are not going to infect your other birds.
