My DSO is really into fishing. I'm sure it wouldn't take much to get him to put a pole in the water.

I take it you're not into fishing? Since usually it's just the line that's dropped in the water not the whole pole.

Go ahead, blow another raspberry at me. I deserve it.

(well, you asked for it!)

This thread is where all the information on this event is being collected and made available. You can also PM any of us if you want to ask something that would be specific to you, but not something you feel you want to share on the forum.

eta - I should have also said that the first post is constantly being updated with any new info. If you want to know the event info, that's the place. Of course, I should now add a section for the camping info. Thanks to Sunny for taking care of that end of things!

I really want to be there. I have been silent so far because we have some (having just moved) issues surrounding the camping part of the event.

We are on a shoestring budget we want to camp but is it going to stop raining I can not afford a room
Can we find the camping stuff (It is somewhere around here but getting it all together may be a problem)
My coop is a temporary one and the chickens escape all day (since moving I have not been able to get a more permanent one up.)
I don't know if my DH who works graveyard will be up for chasing them down and re penning them.

If we do go it will be me and my 15 yo, 10 yo, 5 yo, and my 4.5 yo.

I will RSVP ASAP

The kids really want to go but I am not sure if we can solve all the issues before the event.

Dog crates make great carriers for birds, if you have a dog crate. That's how I usually transport my birds! A large one can hold several birds comfortably, depending on the size of the birds and the crate.

Also, yes, I would much rather my extra chicks go to BYCers than anyone else! I accepted that when I bought hatching eggs that some would have to go to new homes, and no one will take better care of these birds than other BYC people who are well-informed, who I can PM to check on the birds I trade or sell, and who obviously care a lot about chickens! I have eighteen chicks right now, so it's harder for me to get attached to all of them than when I only have a few... Once I figure out who's staying and who's going, THEN I give them names and let myself get attached!

I won't be camping, although it sounds like fun! I think I'm just going to head out in the morning and return that night.

We just found out that is the only weekend DH's family can celebrate his parent's 50th wedding anniversary. I being the good wife agreed, in a most reluctant, yet still loving, even though I can't stand his family, sort of way.

On no!!! We will miss you! You are a wonderful person for sacrificing your plans like that though. Hopefully we'll get to meet you at the next one.

Hey Steffanie! An update on the first page about the camping would be great. Thank you so much. We appreciate all your hard work putting this together.

You are awesome!!! It looks like we have room for 2-3 families still, now that eastbaychicks can't make it.
