No one around here wants to do the dishes

My kids will do dishes without if I ask them to... they have yet to just do them without being asked. It's my husband who almost never touches them. If I say I can't make a meal because there are no clean dishes, he just gets in the car and we go out

. I don't mind doing the dishes too much, after all, we have a dishwasher. I just wish he would rinse his dishes before leaving them on the counter. Nothing more difficult to get clean than a bowl of dried-on cereal. This and getting him to throw his trash in the trashcan rather than just leaving them on the counter above the trashcan are my two biggest issues with him. I guess that means he's not too awful...

It sure is good to know I'm not alone. I think out of all the household chores, dishes are my #1 LEAST favorite. Seems like I'm always washing the same stupid bowl. And I got so tired of the ugly pattern on the dishes we got as a wedding gift, I gave them to goodwill and bought Corelle (all white).

I found a website by accident (which will remain unnamed) when I was doing a search for how to get spaghetti out of carpeting (another long story for another time

) and it has all kinds of suggestions and hints that help get your house organized and cleaned. The first job they try to teach you is to "shine your sink" every night before bed. I started doing this (and backslid a few times) and found it is REALLY nice to get up to a clean kitchen.

Anyhow.... I feel your pain. I think I'm the only one who really cares if the dishes get done, unless they want a utensil... LOL. And I don't have an electric dishwasher. I AM the dishwasher.
