Chicks are hatching at my house!! My dad had a second chicken go broody a few weeks ago so i put 9 of my hens eggs under her. We only had the ameraucana roo for a few weeks so i wasnt sure if many were fertile. Tomorow is day 21 but i already hear chirping and seen 1 chick! Cant wait to see how many hatch.
My hens are buff orpington, partridge rock, easter egger, black sex link. And the roo was a black ameraucana from pips and peeps!! We are pretty excited to see what we get!
The broody hen is my dads welsummer and boy is she protective!!!!

Seen 4 chicks now! And i see some puffy little cheeks! My favorite!

7 chicks so far! Two have not hatched... And she got off them and hasnt been back on them for over an hour so im assuming they arent any good.
But we ar thrilled over 7, more than i expected!
Already out and eating and scratching around today!
