NY chicken lover!!!!

Well I'm home! I got back a couple of hours ago but I've been busy getting everyone situated here in their new homes.

So here they are! I picked up 3 new Silkies and also stopped on my way home to get a Frizzled Polish hen I found last night on CL! I figured I could use her with my Smooth Silkie/Polish crosses with hopes I get more frizzles.

Silkies:

Splash Roo:

Splash Hen (This is the one she hatched out from Catdance eggs last April, lacks the splash coloring but I think she's gorgeous!)

Blue Pullet:

And last but not least....The Frizzled Polish. I did bathe her because she seemed a little dirty and is going thru a molt but I can't figure out if she's supposed to be that creamy/white color or if her feathers are just that dirty and she will get more white feathers in. This was taken AFTER her bath before I brought her to the shed.

2 weeks ago I went to TS and saw white Auracana chicks for sale. I explained to them that they were not Auracana's but they argued that they were. I bought 6 and told them that I would prove that they weren't. (The girl and I are friends through my shopping there, all in good fun) The next week that I went in there was a hand written sign that read white straight run chicks, clearance $1.00. So I now have 6 white chicks that are probably EE because they can lay any color egg but these chicks are quite stream line where as my own EE are usually more compact. Is it possible to tell what these might be? I'm thinking that maybe they are like the ones that were Super Blue Egg layers (like Armorfirelady's Edie and I have her sister) Been a busy week, one of my twin grand daughters fell off her little bike and broke her arm. She was rushed to the pediatric hospital in Rochester, NY by ambulance for emergency surgery, now has 3 pins. Nothing breaks a grandmothers heart to see one of her own hurt. Even Pinky got a cast.
Hmmm Edie looks like she does now only a little bigger, did they look like this when you hatched them? Still pretty tho :) Glad to hear your granddaughter is doing ok now, love that they casted her friend as well :)

So sorry ...that must have been quite a tumble for her to break her arm at that age .
glad her & her friend are healing ...a nice touch for the Dr to do both of them

OUCH! Glad to hear she is doing better. Hope she gets used to cast fast and has a speedy recovery!

DH just finished our new coop.... We were going to spend so much buying a new one but he just built this one with 85% recycled material. Those were French doors off a old job.

Very cute.. But the frizzled polish is just a cutie pie! I may have to get one.
