Wow!!! I'm kind of jealous What breeds are in that cluster of hens??

Most of those girls are cuckoo marans mix girls....some are half dark cornish. And of course my partridge barnelever.
The eggs in the pic are from my flock but the ones I have in now are from a friends flock. I am hatching for another friend

Just eliminated 4 eggs for either Blood rings or no development. I dropped from 50 to 46.

I've got 9 light Sussex eggs in the incubator due on the 10th of October. I just got back from a week away. Really helps with the boredom of the first phase, if you can trust your incubator and the power that is. I had two caretakers here, told them not to touch the bator...candled them last night and all looks good. Now I'm bored!..lol

Muscovywunda, I have one of these same incubators and I am supposed to get some eggs to hatch this week from a friend. I will let you know how it turns out...

I eliminated one egg due to some sort of weeping like egg white seeping through. I didnt see any hairline cracks but there must have been one.
My broody only has 2 chicks with her. I found one dead that looked like it wasnt dried off all the way. I couldnt see any trauma. The other chick is missing so I am moving baby momma and the remaining two chicks to another coop.

Thats great to hear! Did You start them today?

Nope yesterday. They were the eggs I traded for the red jungle fowl eggs under the mother hen.
