Well to break the boredom, I will be candling my eggs again this evening! Not sooo exciting but at least it is something to do while I wait. Just a week away from hatching now...

My calender just alerted me to candle the first set of eggs. Tomorrow will b the second set..I think I will just wait till tomorrow.

42 egg capacity incubator, every 3 weeks for 52 weeks (although I took about a total of 3 weeks off in tiny bursts) with a 50% hatch rating (but growing as I get better, last hatch was 80%) I estimate 348

Do you process some of the chickens or what do you do with them all? That's a lot!

When ˆ run out of meat I go out and grab the biggest cockerel, or the one that is causing the most problems. Unless I breed them I sell my Pullets when they start laying. I need manure for composting and I do not need so many eggs so I figured thats the perfect time to sell them for me. Happy customers and I get plenty of Manure from them before I sell them.

I just candled and I was able to eliminate some more eggs... and I have 2 I was not sure of so I put them in the corner. 42 eggs in the egg turner and no more manual turns. Likely I only have 40 viable eggs at this point. since about 5 of them are Sermas I will likely not have 2 of those hatch... last hatch was about 80% so if that continues about 30 will hatch on Oct 14th (Columbus Day)

Well, I just got my eggs from @WVduckchick... 4 seramas, 4 CL, and a bunch of cochins. I gotta clean my bator, get the chicks out, etc.. Plannin to start them this afternoon/evening. Hatch day will be Oct 24-25
