Are you hatching in a cabinet?

@ChickChic00 is that pic your current hatch? It looks like you have some that already hatched? You can try a single tray and boost humidity at the same time. If you decide to, work quickly. I've not had issues opening my incubator during lockdown before but my setup is different.
Yes this is current. I've not had any hatch. The bantam egg is probably what is throwing you off. Its whitish.

there are so many people that are dependent on grocery stores and it always makes me wonder what would happen if the grocery stores weren't available :idunno

I have that in the back of my mind a lot these days....I'm not currently allowed to keep roos where I live in town, but I make sure I have access to hatching eggs and breeding pairs of the varieties I like, just in case one day it's not so easy, or not healthy, to use store-bought chicken. I figure if that comes to be the case, I'll be raising cockerels for slaughter and keeping a roo hidden away in my garage. And I'll learn to slaughter humanely and clean carcasses.

My mom is probably rolling in her grave right now...she spent her whole life trying to get away from the farm and its messiness, and here I am, the lifelong city woman, contemplating learning how to slaughter and clean.

I grew up in the country then we moved to the city when I was in my teens then when I met my husband we moved back to the country.

We are doing meat chickens for the first time. Our first processing day will be my birthday when they're old enough.
